We all know the saying: “Life would be easy if it weren’t for other people.” Relationships are messy. We want so desperately for the people close to us to affirm us, to reflect back that we are good, right, worthy, and valuable. Instead, so often what we perceive from others is judgment, criticism, and conflict — whether or not that is what they intended. We find ourselves responding in anger, hurt, and defensiveness, instead of with the love of Christ. This frustrating spiral can feel hopeless, but the truth is that our relational God created us as relational people for godly, life-giving relationships, both with Himself and other people. In this four session retreat, we will discover how God guides us, through His word, to bring his love and hope to our messy relationships in a messy world.
